Financial assistance from Pradhan Mantri AyushmanCard Scheme

Deva Yadav is a resident of Gram Panchayat Rani Sagar who has been contributing as a manobal volunteer in the Community Mental Health and Child Protection Program run by UNICEF and Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti. He tries his best to benefit people at community level after his training and capacity building activities designed under mental health program. He also works for generation of awareness regarding Government schemes so ghat maximum people could reach the facilitating platforms.

Earlier this year, a camp was organized by Chhattisgarh Agricon team in Gram Panchayat Amne for providing support and help in the making process of Prime Minister Ayushman Card, where these volunteers generated awareness and mobilized the community and brought them to the camp area to get benefit of the scheme. Manobal volunteer Deva Yadav also came to know about this scheme meanwhile he came to know that his relative Laxmi Prasad Yadav had met an accident and the family had already spent Rs 60,000 on his treatment and now they don’t have money for further treatment.

The income of the family is low and there were no hands available at that moment to provide financial assistance to the family. Looking at the circumstances the family felt broked and distressed. In such a situation to help the family, Deva Yadav assisted them and the Prime Minister's Ayushman Card Scheme and took the help of UNICEF and Chhattisgarh Agricon samiti’s Block Coordinator Aman Kashyap to make Laxmi Prasad's Ayushman Card. After the card was made, Laxmi Prasad took advantage of the scheme by getting further treatment with financial assistance of Rs 2,80,000. The family was happy and worry-free and thanked the manobal volunteer Deva Yadav and block coordinator Aman Kashyap for their help.

This way the message of being facilitated through Ayushman scheme was widespread in the nearby villages and then slowly people started to reach Deva Yadav for help and assistance which resulted in 60+ villagers being benefited through Ayushman scheme till date.
