Yuvoday Celebrates One Year of Youth Engagement
Durg, July 11, 2024 — The District Administration of Durg, in collaboration with UNICEF and Agricon Foundations, celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Yuvoday initiative with a special “Coffee with Collector” program at the Forest Millet Café. The event, attended by Yuvoday volunteers, marked a significant milestone in the initiative aimed at inspiring youth and promoting volunteerism.
A Year of Impactful Volunteerism
Launched on June 7, 2023, Yuvoday was conceived as a joint effort by the district administration and UNICEF to increase community participation in district programs and engage youth in various social issues. Over the past year, Yuvoday volunteers have actively contributed to a wide range of community-focused projects, including:
Community Mental Health
Addiction Awareness
Cleanliness Drives
Menstrual Hygiene Management
Nutrition and Adolescent Health
Environmental Protection
Education Initiatives
ANC Checkups
The volunteers also played a pivotal role in voter awareness campaigns during assembly and parliamentary elections and assisted with the Mahtari Vandan Yojana application process.
Acknowledgment and Appreciation
Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary, who inaugurated the Coffee with Collector program, expressed her gratitude and admiration for the Yuvoday volunteers. She stated, “The Yuvoday initiative has provided our youth with an opportunity to better themselves through community service.”

During the event, Yuvoday volunteers shared their one-year journey, emphasizing the personal and societal impact of their involvement. One volunteer remarked, “This initiative has given me the opportunity to understand the needs of society and work for them. During this time, I have learned many new skills and felt an increase in my confidence. Yuvoday has taught me that small steps can bring about significant changes in society.”

The program highlighted various social projects undertaken by the Yuvoday volunteers, showcasing their contributions to education, health, cleanliness, and environmental protection. The event concluded with Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary presenting certificates to the dedicated volunteers.
