The service of humanity is the highest duty.
The Manav Dharma Charitable Trust, located
in the Sakti district of Chhattisgarh state, has been actively contributing to
various regional issues and promoting social behavior change since 2017.
Primarily focused on women's empowerment and awareness of adolescent girls'
health, the trust's workers in different villages of Balrampur district, Sakti,
have provided support through activities such as sewing training for women,
health awareness programs for adolescent girls, free distribution of sanitary
pads, free medical consultations, distribution of free Ayurvedic medicines,
distribution of ORS packets for young children, and self-defense training for
girls. Members of the trust, including Mrs. Himani Meshram and Secretary Kabir
Sagar, shared that they organized 15 to 20 days of free sewing training camps
in Navdiha and Gamhadiya gram panchayats, benefiting 20 adolescent girls and 58
women from Navdiha and 26 girls and 40 women from Gamhadiya. This initiative
has played a crucial role in making them self-reliant.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the trust
conducted awareness rallies for vaccination in Asanpali, Gamhadiya, and
Bharatpur gram panchayats, distributed dry rations to those in need, organized
street plays for COVID vaccination, and participated in national vaccination
programs like Mission Indradhanush for complete immunization of infants. In
Shankargarh tehsil of Balrampur district, people in Gamhadiya panchayat learned
about preventive measures against seasonal illnesses and benefited from health
camps.
In Parsada Khurd village of Sakti
district, the trust collaborated with UNICEF and The We The People Foundation
for awareness rallies in rural areas. They supported more than 200 needy
families in Aasampali gram panchayat with dry ration, oil, and other essentials.
Secretary Kabir highlighted that, with government support, the trust has
prepared over 200 villagers to be trained in honey production, aiming to
provide self-employment opportunities.
In conclusion, it is not an exaggeration to say that this organization, true to its name, is tirelessly working for the welfare of humanity, keeping the principles of humanity as its foremost duty.
